About The PenguinNetwork

Who runs The PenguinNetwork, the hardware behind the modded Minecraft servers, and our promise to players.

Updated 15.08.2026

The PenguinNetwork is a free, public modded Minecraft network, run by passionate people ever since 2019.

Who we are

Hi! We're dukcc and Oz.

It started in 2019, when I (dukcc) put up a community server, so I (Oz) and my (Oz's) viewers had somewhere to play while I (Oz) was streaming.
That was supposed to be the whole thing.

People kept playing though, so we kept it running, maintaining it little by little for years.

Then in 2025 we started going a tad overboard: we bought our own hardware, moved into a colocation, and incorporated the network (for funny tax reasons).

Over the years we've collected a lot of ""friends™*"" that we like to call staff

What we run

Modded Minecraft servers!
Which packs exactly changes over time, so have a look at the servers in the sidebar for what's up right now.

All of them are open to everyone. No whitelist, no application, no donation needed. Just pick a pack and join at <pack>.ihatemy.live !

The only exception are brand-new packs, which sometimes run as a pre-release for a while before we open them up to everyone.

What we promise you

Some things aren't going to change, no matter how big this gets.

No pay to win

We're strictly against pay to win, and that's never going to change.

Donating will get you bragging rights, some chat and nickname formatting and early access to pre-release servers, that's it. The donations page has the details.

Everything that actually does something in-game (chunk claims, extra homes, /fly, even /god!) is earned by playtime across the network. Check out the ranks page for what you get and when.

An awesome community

Our staff team is honestly great, and so are the people playing here!
Ask something in chat or in our Discord and someone will usually help you out within minutes.

The best example is /warp public, a free for all area on our servers where everyone can build.
Players set up shops there, dump their spare items for whoever needs them, and work on builds together.
Have a look around next time you're online or check out The Gallery

We don't kill servers

We never shut down an active server, and we never reset maps.

The few servers we did shut down over the years only went after a long time with nobody playing on them.
And even those aren't gone: the maps stay downloadable in The Graveyard.
So if you come back months later, you can still grab your world and keep playing locally.

Powerful hardware

We rent space, not servers!
All of them are built by us, with parts we picked specifically for modded Minecraft.

Modded packs mostly want fast single core performance, so that's what we buy:

  • modern Ryzen CPUs
  • as much RAM as we can fit on the board
  • and NVMe RAIDs.
And all of it is ours so we're not at the mercy of hosting providers not upcharging the RAM we already have c:

Behind the scenes

The nodes

What we currently run:

CPURAMStorage
Ryzen 7 9700X256 GB DDR54 × 2 TB NVMe (RAID 5)
Ryzen 7 5800X128 GB DDR43 × 2 TB NVMe (RAID 5)

How it's funded

Most of it comes from your donations on Ko-fi, which keep the servers and the rack space paid for!

New hardware is (historically) usually bought upfront by dukcc out of his own pocket, and the donations chip away at that over time.
